Position Description

The Admissions Counselor represents Alaska Pacific University (APU) to prospective students and external communities, meeting annual enrollment targets within an assigned territory and throughout Alaska and the lower-48. This position plans and implements data-informed recruitment strategies, manages the prospective student pipeline from inquiry through enrollment, and builds strategic relationships with schools, organizations, and families. Through measurable recruitment efforts and territory management, the Admissions Counselor significantly contributes to raising APU’s profile and enhancing enrollment PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Meets or exceeds assigned enrollment targets and key performance indicators (KPIs). Develops and executes territory-specific recruitment plans with measurable objectives and quarterly benchmarks. Identifies and recruits potential students through targeted outreach and strategic territory analysis. Assesses opportunities and implements effective recruitment plans based on best practices.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of college admissions processes and degree programs.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to adapt style to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to build productive relationships and influence decisions through trust and credibility.
  • Skill in working successfully with diverse populations.
