TTI Tour Guide

Position Description

Arctic Slope Regional Corporation Under the direction of the General Manager, the Tour Guide drives and leads tours for tour participants and is responsible for the overall transportation needs of the tours and shuttles, while providing assistance, communicating an objective and approved interpretation of cultural, historical and contemporary heritage as well as information about the people, the area and the wildlife to tour participants. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned) Provides guests and employees assistance and information enthusiastically and professionally. Ensures respectful and positive interactions through effective communications with tour participants, co-workers, staff and management and demonstrate a willingness to share about positive stories and life experiences that presents life in the Arctic region in a favorable light. Ensures tour participant’s enrichment of Barrow, the Arctic Region and Inupiat Culture, Traditions and Heritage through presentation and communication about Barrow, the Arctic and traditional Inupiaq attire, history, customs, folklore and games to tour participants individually and/or in a group. Ensuring satisfaction and the safety while driving, loading/unloading and touring of the passengers, and assets by facilitating and operating within the parameters of the company’s policies, local, state and federal laws and ensuring the cleanliness, aesthetics, safety and security of the tour environment, equipment and company's vehicles to include buses, vans and trucks.
