As the Vertical Construction Project Estimator, you onsite in Alaska and will be responsible for identifying bidding opportunities, preparing detailed cost estimates, and managing preconstruction estimating activities for vertical construction and federal projects, including design/build opportunities. This role leads quantity takeoffs, labor and material pricing, subcontractor quote evaluation, and development of complete project estimates. You will work closely with Project Managers to align cost models with project requirements, budget constraints, and logistical considerations, and provides estimating support during both preconstruction and the construction phase when needed.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Participate in client discussions to clarify scope and project requirements.
- Analyze labor and material requirements to determine cost-efficiency of self-performing vs. subcontracting certain scopes.
- Develop and submit prequalification packages and scope letters.
- Knowledge of federal construction requirements and compliance.
- Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and laptop-based applications; ability to maintain and utilize estimating software.
