Position Description

Supervising Attorney, Victim Services Job Title: Supervising Attorney Reports To: Sr. Manager of Victim Services Supervises: Attorneys and Paralegals The Supervising Attorney provides comprehensive legal services and supervises a team of attorneys and paralegals delivering legal representation to Alaska Native and American Indian victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, and other crimes. This position primarily represents victims as clients in proceedings related to protective orders and family law matters. Working in partnership with our people, the Supervising Attorney helps develop opportunities that fulfill our endless potential by advocating for victims of crime. The role requires exceptional leadership, commitment to race equity work, and the ability to communicate effectively in cross-cultural situations while managing complex legal matters in both rural and urban settings. Supervise and mentor attorneys and paralegals, providing guidance on case strategy, legal analysis, and professional development.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Ensure appropriate grant administration including planning, data collection, progress monitoring, reporting, and staff coordination to meet all funder requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to write reports, prepare training presentations, correspondence, and effectively present information to groups and community partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with protective orders and family law practices.
