Position Description

Medic/Security Officer: Alyeska TAPS Denali Universal Services (DUS) The Medic/Security Officer is a hybrid role that requires the employee to perform a variety of emergency medical treatment (EMT) duties and security related functions. This role requires strong observation skills, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in routine and emergency situations. EMT: Under the supervision of the Medical Operations Manager (MOM) and under the direction of a licensed medical physician or designated healthcare provider, the EMT responds to emergency calls, administers emergency medical treatment and transports sick/injured patients to definitive care medical facilities or evaluates and treats non-emergent medical conditions. Security: Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, clients, and property by performing assigned security duties, enforcing site policies, and responding to incidents in a professional and timely manner. Incumbents are required to be firearms licensed, trained & qualified. The position is located at a live-in location, working a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, 12-hour shifts. Room and board is provided, as is transportation from Anchorage or Fairbanks.
