Position Description

Adjunct Faculty in Applied Management, Business Administration, Economics, and Healthcare Management The College of Business and Security Management (CBSM) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for adjunct instructors for the 2026-2027 academic year. Adjunct faculty teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the disciplines of Applied Management, Business Administration, Economics, Healthcare Management, and Sport and Recreation Management. All applicants are expected to commit to teaching excellence. Qualified candidates are expected to develop a unique and engaging curriculum. Teaching may be conducted face-to-face, online, or a hybrid of the two. Work might be in-person or remote, depending on the needs of the program respective to the course being taught. Applicants are encouraged to indicate their ability or preference for teaching in person, remotely, or in a hybrid capacity. The University of Alaska (UA) requires employees to work on-site based on operational and business needs. Hybrid and remote work arrangements may be considered only for positions specifically designated and advertised as eligible for such arrangements. Any approved arrangement will be based on the position's duties, operational needs, and the employee's ability to effectively perform the work remotely. Salary is $1,808.00 per credit hour. Most courses are 3 credit hours, so the total salary for a typical course would be $5,424.00. This may change in special circumstances. Please include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and three professional references in your application. This is a pooled position, and applications are reviewed as needed. Submission of an application does not guarantee review or a job offer. Because we may close the posting once a sufficient pool of qualified candidates is established, we encourage early submission. Please note that once a viable pool is identified, further applications may not be reviewed.
