Position Description

The University of Alaska Southeast is seeking a motivated professional to serve as our Case Manager-someone passionate about providing high-quality support in a higher education environment. In this role, you will provide direct support services to students and manage student welfare concerns. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Comprehensive familiarity with the ethical principles, and industry best practices associated with case management and non-clinical student support services. Working knowledge of, or the ability to learn about, State of Alaska mental health and wellness services and supports. Must possess the ability to comprehend and apply university policies and procedures, and interpret information using knowledge of student development to refer students to appropriate areas of assistance. Outstanding relational skills with the demonstrated ability to build trusting partnerships with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of students, faculty, and staff. Ability to navigate and operate effectively within administrative systems to troubleshoot situations and apply decision-making strategies and problem solving skills in order to individuals in their pursuit of their educational goals.

  • Ability to navigate and operate effectively within administrative systems to troubleshoot situations and apply decision-making strategies and problem solving skills in order to individuals in their pursuit of their educational goals.
  • Experience with database management systems, case-tracking platforms (such as Maxient), and productivity suites (Microsoft Office and Google Workspace).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, higher education administration, or a closely related human services field.
