Position Description
Cooperative Extension Resilience Coordinator The UAF Cooperative Extension works enrich the lives of Alaskans across the state by bringing relevant, research-based information to communities. The Cooperative Extension Resilience Educator will lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of trauma-informed programming and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training across rural Alaska. This role is responsible for bridging the gap between clinical research and community application, specifically targeting the opioid epidemic, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and rural isolation. Experienced in developing and implementing program priorities, strategic goals, and long-term direction while ensuring effective grant management and compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Skilled in recruiting subject matter experts and coordinating contracts, timelines, and deliverables to provide consistent, accessible, and community-relevant expertise. Knowledgeable in Alaska's prevention programs, including state and tribal health resources, with experience creating and delivering trauma-informed prevention education and training. Brings experience working in rural Alaska and within Extension environments, with a strong understanding of community engagement and outreach. Master's degree in related field and five years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master's Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, or Rural Development (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience. A valid Driver's License and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.
