Position Description

The UAA Department of Recreation & Intramurals located in the Avis Alaska Sports Complex, is a diverse division designed to assist students in meeting their academic goals and to provide all UAA students the opportunity for physical development on the Anchorage campus. This is a union represented position. Facility Maintenance workers may be tasked with other duties as assigned. Under supervision, may routinely perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and light duty construction duties in a combination of several trades or crafts such as plumbing; carpentry; painting; and equipment maintenance. The successful candidate may need to provide a copy of complete driving record. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or challenging situations. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and ability to perform routine inspections. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
