Position Description
We're looking for a Facilities Electrician who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in quality work, and knows that keeping the lights on is serious business (even if we have fun doing it). You'll troubleshoot electrical systems, chase down stubborn breaker trips, install and maintain lighting and controls, work indoors and outdoors, and support classrooms, labs, offices, and specialized systems across campus. There's no shortage of work here, but the upside is a steady, in-town schedule with real variety from day to day. If you value safety, communicate well, and appreciate clean panels, tight terminations, and thoughtful troubleshooting, you'll feel right at home. This position may be filled at the CT2 or CT3 level, depending on the selected candidate's experience. All positions require a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid Alaska drivers license with a clean driving record, meeting University of Alaska safe driving standards. CT2: State of Alaska Certificate of Fitness Journeyman level Electrician certification or or a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proof of a valid driver's license must be presented at time of hire. Maintaining this license is a condition of employment. CT3: State of Alaska Certificate of Fitness Master level or equivalent Electrician certification or a minimum of 15 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proof of a valid driver's license must be presented at time of hire. Maintaining this license is a condition of employment.
