Position Description
Facilities Services - Temporary Trades The Temporary Trades position will work under general supervision, may routinely perform a variety of skilled maintenance, repair, and construction tasks in a variety of trades requiring at least apprentice level skills; to tasks within a specialized trade requiring journeyman level skills. This position is represented by the Alaska Higher Education Crafts & Trades Employees (L6070). Positions are hired on an as-needed basis, determined by the Division of Maintenance hiring authority. Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and technical procedures. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management.

- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as pressures, frequency, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Journeyman level certification, if applicable, in the craft or trade duties being performed.
- A minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
