The UAA Enrollment Services Department is recruiting for a Financial Aid Advisor. The Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for a wide range of duties in support of UAA students and their financial aid needs. Financial Aid Advisors work directly with students and families to assist them through the financial aid application and awarding process. Major responsibilities include processing federal, state, and institutional awards, adjusting cost of attendance (COA), and the preparation and dissemination of financial aid information. This position involves a great deal of attention-to-detail and ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and institutional policies. This position works in the Enrollment Services Department of Student Affairs at UAA. To thrive in this role, the successful candidate must be highly organized, adaptable, and knowledgeable of financial aid regulations, FERPA, and higher education policies. Strong computer and financial aid systems skills, excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities, sound judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. The ideal candidate will work effectively both independently and as part of a team while providing knowledgeable, and efficient support to students and colleagues. An Associate's degree in a related field and two years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of federal financial aid rules and regulations. Experience working in a customer service field, preferably with finances above and beyond typical retail sales.
