Position Description

Graduate Research Assistants (Grad RA's)/ (2026-2027)-International Arctic Research Center (IARC) The International Arctic Research Center (IARC) actively recruits graduate students for research assistantship positions throughout the academic year. These temporary appointments are made on a per-semester basis and offer an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative research environment. IARC may be hiring from this pool during the year, and the duties assigned will vary depending on the specific department's needs. Applicants are reviewed on an as-needed basis by various departments during the year. Multiple departments within IARC may hire from this pool as needs arise, and assigned duties will vary depending on departmental requirements. Applications are reviewed on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year by individual departments. Submission to this pool does not guarantee review or selection. Ability to pay attention to detail is essential to ensure accuracy in all aspects of the work. Graduate research candidates should have relevant experience, take a proactive approach to problem-solving, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team-meeting deadlines and contributing to shared goals. Success in this position also requires adaptability, a willingness to learn new skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of performance. An interest in, and capacity to learn, curriculum or research design and support is highly valued. Candidates should have a foundational understanding of learning, research, or creative processes. Strong organizational abilities and clear, effective communication are also key to succeeding in this role. Awarded Bachelor's degree and Pursuing a Graduate degree at UAF.
