Position Description

Network Communications Specialist Are you ready to make a statewide impact? The University of Alaska OIT Telecommunications Services is looking for a Senior Network Specialist to join our mission-driven team. We provide the vital connectivity that links campuses across the vast landscape of Alaska, managing everything from global Internet 2 connections to the local UAF networks and UAF's rural campuses and learning centers. In this role, you aren't just maintaining infrastructure; you are part of a collaborative Network Operations and Engineering team dedicated to supporting students, research scientists, and faculty and staff. Join a skilled team of motivated professionals where your work ensures our university community stays connected, aligned, and ready for the future. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e. Information Technology or other related field) and 4 years progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Demonstrated experience supporting WAN and LAN in an enterprise environment, working with routing and switching infrastructure, and working on enterprise IT projects.
