Position Description

The School of Preventive and Therapeutic Sciences is seeking a highly motivated, customer service-oriented individual to join our Administrative Team as a Program Support Specialist. Program Specialists are responsible for a wide range of duties that include working directly with students, staff, and faculty plus providing administrative support for our six Preventive and Therapeutic Sciences programs: Dental Hygiene; Dietetics and Nutrition; Health, Physical Education and Recreation; Physical Therapist Assistant; Occupational Therapy; and Speech-Language Pathology. A typical day: Preventive and Therapeutic Sciences Program Support Specialists provide students, Program Directors, and staff with administrative support. They are the first point of contact for students and faculty. They provide initial program information by phone and email, direct students to appropriate faculty, track student and program information, and process paperwork prior to university deadlines. They also assist with event planning, office inventories, distributing program supplies, schedule meetings and take notes, and communicate student concerns to faculty. They schedule classes, reserve rooms, and assist our six Program Directors with a variety of other duties. Successful employees work well with others, are teachable, flexible, adjust easily to change, and work well in a busy office. They converse professionally face to face and in writing, are skilled in customer service, value office administration, and easily take direction from others. Most importantly, they understand we are training the next generation of Health Care workers. Experience in health care Higher Education Familiarity of Division programs

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience in health care Higher Education
  • High School graduation and three years progressively responsible experience in general office procedures and use of standard office equipment.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.
