Position Description
Project Structural Welder/Fitter (Construction - MPU SIP) - PRU014Y This is a construction project with an expected duration of one (1) to two (2) years. The anticipated start date is July 2026. The rotation will be four (4) weeks on and two (2) weeks off. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. The structural welder/fitter fabricator performs welding of metal components for fabrication or repair of machine parts, plant equipment and structures according to layout, blueprints or work orders using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. Lay out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, and building and bridge parts, according to blueprints, specifications and knowledge of welding and metallurgy. Select equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.

- Ability to properly use and care for the tools and equipment and welding electrodes commonly used on an industrial project.
- Ability to operate all hand tools and power tools associated with welding process.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and be capable of performing assigned tasks with limited general technical guidance.
- Ability to read and understand engineering prints.
